Profile

Ulrike is the founder of Knox McConnell Architects which was established in 2007 and is based in Saltaire, specialising in the repair and adaptation of historic buildings. With over 25 years practicing in building conservation, Ulrike has led teams of talented consultants and crafts people working on some of the country’s most historically significant buildings including St Paul’s Cathedral and Lichfield Cathedral. Currently she is the Cathedral Architect for the Anglican Cathedrals of Bradford, Liverpool and Manchester and looks after numerous Grade 1 listed buildings throughout the north of England.

Ulrike is a Commissioner on the Cathedral Fabric Commission of England (CFCE) and is also a member of Ripon Cathedral Fabric Advisory Committee (FAC). In addition, Ulrike is a specialist advisor for the Diocesan Advisory Committee for Leeds, a grant committee member for the Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust (YHCT) and has been an judge for the Natural Stone Awards since 2010.
