Profile
After graduation, I worked for BDP in Preston for a couple of years which was an unbelievable experience. I was given the freedom to design an indoor sports and swimming pool building in the middle of Chester, the Northgate Arena. It seems to have stood the test of time quite well. The rest of the time at BDP was spent on production information within a small team and running the project on site which again was fantastic experience. In late 74, I got a position with John Brunton and Partners in Bradford where I concentrated mainly on Housing Association and local authority housing work.
By 1984 I had risen to Associate level but decided with Steve Moorhouse and Les Webb to set up our own practice, Webb Seeger Moorhouse which grew into a medium sized practice based in the outskirts of Leeds and operating within an area from Hull to Liverpool and Birmingham to Newcastle. The workload was predominantly based on social housing and large urban renewal projects. Within the Practice we also set up Woodhall Planning and Conservation which operated nationwide. In '87 or thereabouts, we were introduced into the Acanthus network and the practice still remains a member of that group and is now known as Acanthus WSM. I retired from the practice in 2002 and set up Andrew Seeger Ltd and continue to practice in that guise but in 2017 I’m veering towards retirement.
